Barbara passed away in Logan Utah on October 26, 2014 after a short illness. She was born in Wellsville, Utah on November 7, 1935 to Stella Hall & Melvin H. Archibald.
Bobbie was reared and educated in Wellsville and graduated from South Cache High School. She later attended Beauty School in California then returned to Utah where she worked as a licensed Beautician. On April 24, 1961 she married the love of her life, Bryan Blanthorn of Grouse Creek, Utah. Their marriage was solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple September 22, 1965.
The next 41 years she resided there touching many people’s lives. Her favorite activity was dancing with Bryan which she claimed was the world’s best dancer. Bobbie had a passion for dancing and provided a new “Swing” to the Grouse Creek community especially with the young men’s and women’s groups with the traveling road shows.
In 2005 she and Bryan relocated from the family ranch to Tremonton, Utah where she spent the remainder of her life.
Bobbie had been a devoted member of the Grouse Creek Ward and of the Tremonton sixth Ward. She served in various church positions.
Surviving are their combined family of five sons and three daughters: Patricia (Eddie) Welch, Garland UT; Peggy (John) Hoffman, Tremonton, UT; Janet Blanthorn, Boise ID; Dale (Sharon) Blanthorn, Breneau, ID; Paul (Leona) Blanthorn, Fairview, UT; Bruce Blanthorn, Kingston, UT; Sam (Tawni) Blanthorn, Grouse Creek, UT; Corie (Cristy) Blanthorn, Gillette, WY: 24 Grand Children and 26 Great Grand Children; Sisters: Melva Lee Summers, Logan, UT; Lana (Jerry) Gunnell, Providence, UT.
She is proceeded in Death by her parents; Husband, Bryan Blanthorn; one granddaughter, Melika Blanthorn.
A viewing will be Thursday, October 30, 2014 from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Rogers & Tayler Funeral Home 111 North 100 East Tremonton, Utah. Grave Side services will be held October 31, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at the Grouse Creek Cemetery, Grouse Creek, Utah.
In Lieu of flowers the family has asked that donations be made to the American Legion Post #76, the Combined Veterans of Box Elder County.
