Barbara (Bobbie) Warburton

Barbara Ann Warburton (Bobbie), 89, passed away on March 12, 2022 in her daughters home, in Deer Mountain Utah. Bobbie was born on July 24, 1932 in Salt Lake City Utah to H. Hudson and Maida Cottrell Webb. She attended South High and one year at the University of Utah.

On May 16, 1951 She married the love of her life Richard L. Warburton in the Salt Lake Temple. Richard passed away on July 13, 2019. They were blessed with five children, 21 grandchildren and 27 great grandchildren.

Bobbie was a skilled knitter and almost every family member as well as many other individuals have been blessed by the beautiful sweaters and afghans that she knitted over the years. She also enjoyed ceramics which many of us enjoy in our homes throughout the various seasons of the year that they were created to celebrate.

Bobbie enjoyed spending time camping with Dad and other family members. She also enjoyed swimming, playing racquetball and playing games of all types with friends, family and especially with her grandchildren.

As a homemaker she raised five children and loved spending time with them as well as her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, she served a mission for many years as a guide at the Beehive House in Salt Lake City. She also served in her home ward in Taylorsville Utah in various teaching positions in the YWMIA, Primary, and the Relief Society organizations.

Bobbie is survived by their children: Laurie (Kim) Sorensen, Stephen (Carrie) Warburton, Craig (Susy) Warburton, Lynne (Brent) Layton, Chris (Stan) Bowen, 19 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren, her sisters Maida Jean (Ray) Burt, and Marjorie (Wes) Odell.

Graveside services will be held March 17, 2022 at the Salt Lake City Cemetery at 1:00 pm (200 N St E, Salt Lake City, UT).
