Bert Lee Rose passed away the morning of December 1st at the George E. Wahlen Ogden Veterans Home in Ogden, UT. Bert was born October 23, 1931 in Naf, Idaho to Floyd Rose and Mary Feicht Rose. During his childhood years he lived in Nampa, ID, Standrod, ID, Dillon, MT, and Portage, UT. Bert Graduated from Bear River High School in 1951. During his school years he enjoyed playing sports for the Portage LDS church ball teams. He was a better than average athlete. He also played football for the Bear River High School. Bert had a unique talent of working with his hands. It seemed that he could fix nearly anything. After graduation from high School he enlisted in the United States Air force where he spent 2 ½ years as a sheet metal mechanic. He later learned to be a lathe operator while working for North American aviation in Los Angeles. He married Gayle Nessen on March 24, 1956. They spent most of their married life in Pleasant View Utah where Bert worked for a short time as a telephone company maintenance repairman. For the remainder of his working life he worked for numerous companies as a lathe operator and machinist. He retired from Fresenius Medical Care in Ogden, UT. In his later years he lived in Roy, UT for a short period of time prior to moving back to Ogden. Bert was preceded in death by his father Floyd Rose, and his mother Mary Feicht Rose. He has two living siblings, Janice Marie Rose of Payson and Darrell Eugene Rose of Orem. Bert is survived by four children, Steve (Janet) Rose of American Fork, Lisa Rose Skeen of North Ogden, Peggy Rose (Kris) of Ogden and Robyn (Danny) Shelton of Roy. He was blessed with 9 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren with twins on the way. Funeral services will be Tuesday, Dec. 4 2012, at 11:00 a.m. at Myers Mortuary Chapel (845 Washington Blvd. Ogden, UT) with a viewing prior to services from 9:30 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. A special thanks to Dr. Carl Gray and his staff for their great care of Bert over the past 5 years. We would also like to thank the nurses and staff at the George E Wahlen Veterans Home and IHC Hospice. Bert loved each and every one of you and your care for him went above and beyond. Thank You!
