Beth Ballard

Beth Holmgren Ballard passed away on April 21, 2018. Mom was born October 25, 1927 to LeRoy and Gladys Holmgren, she was born in her grandmas home in Bear River City.  She was a farm girl from the beginning to the end with a insatiable zest for life.

Mom graduated from Box Elder High where she served as Student Body Vice President and from Stephens College with an associate degree. She married Denzil Guy Ballard on September 1, 1947.

Mom was a wonderful cook and fed hired hands and many neighbors.  She worked at Mack’s, the Sugar Factory and the Bear River Health Department.

Mom’s greatest achievements were the happiness and success of her children, grandchildren and greatgrandchildren.

She served in the Primary, Relief Society and Cub Scouts and left many good memories with those she served.

She is survived by her children Bobbye Moon, Ross (Julie), Guy (Michelle), Alison (Byron) Nelson and Tina (Byron) Barker, 23 grandchildren and 32 great grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Carol Penovich, sister-in-law’s Janice and Phyllis Holmgren and LuJean Wise.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Denzil Guy Ballard, parents and step father Roy Thorson, grandson Dusty Moon, brothers Del, John and Nyman, sister Rose Mary, sister-in-law Melanie Holmgren, and brother-in law George Penovich.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 28, 2018 at Noon in the Tremonton 1st Ward LDS Chapel (166 N. Tremont St. Tremonton, UT). Viewings will be held on Friday evening April 27, 2018 from 6-8 p.m. and from 10:30- 11:30 a.m. on Saturday morning, both at the Rogers & Taylor Funeral Home (111 N. 100 E., Tremonton, UT).
