Bobbye Ballard Moon

July 31, 1948 — August 4, 2022

Our feisty, happy, loving Bobbye Moon took a better offer as she passed on Thursday, August 4th 2022.

Roberta Ballard Moon was born July 31, 1948, a daughter to Denzil Guy and Beth Holmgren Ballard.  Everyone knew her as “Bobbye”.  She was raised in Tremonton as an active youth participating in youth dance, sports and church programs.  She was an active Bear River High School “Bear”.

She attended Weber State College and married William E Moon in 1967.  They later divorced.  Bobbye lived her adult life in the Ogden area and worked in Real Estate, and as a Civil Service employee.  She was selected for training and established herself for a professional Federal Career as a civilian employee for the Department of Defense.

Mother of three sons, Dustin, Nathan, and Jonathan, Bobbye loved her family and devoted herself to caring for them.  She also became a second mother to many of her son’s friends.  She loved attending her granddaughters dance completions and was so proud of their awards and accomplishments.  She loved taking trips with family and friends.  She also loved to drive around to see the building projects that her sons were completing.

Bobbye enjoyed quilting and providing service with her sisters in the Alpha Tau Sorority.  She served as a two-year president and recently received her 30-year pin.  Bobbye loved her sorority sisters.  She especially enjoyed efforts to benefit the children being treated at St. Jude’s Hospital.  During Bobbye’s retirement, she provided loving compassionate service to her mother in Tremonton in her final years.

Bobbye’s passing will leave a big hole in all our hearts and lives.  We will miss so many things including her beautiful smile, yummy caramels, comments on our Facebook posts, and phone calls to see just how we are doing.  To Bobbye, family was the most important thing in the world.  She was such a big support and also supported by them.  Her generosity and willingness to help everyone will forever be an example to all.

She is preceded in death by her parents, and her sons, Dusty and Jonathan.  She is survived by a son Nathan (Bonnie), and 2 beautiful granddaughters Rylee and Emma Moon, her brothers Ross (Julie) Ballard-Farmington and Guy (Michelle) Ballard-Fielding, and sisters Alison (Byron) Nelson-Bothwell, and Tina (Byron) Barker-Elwood.

The family would like to acknowledge the loving care given by Shalie Salerno and the Oncology Department @ Huntsman Cancer Center.  In lieu of flowers Bobbye’s family would invite donations to “Give hope to kids with cancer” @ https://www.stjude.org/donate/donate-to-st-jude.html.
