Our dear mother and grandmother Caroline Petersen Jensen, 86, was welcomed home by her sweetheart Gordon and son Bruce on Tuesday, June 7, 2011, Caroline was born in Fielding, Utah on June 1, 1925 to Noble Rasmus Petersen and Donetta Mary Hansen. As the third of seven children, she spent her youth helping on the family farm and loved to be on the tractor with her dad. She preferred working outside to helping with the household chores. Caroline attended Fielding Elementary and Bear River High School. After graduation, she attended LDS Business College in Salt Lake before moving to Brigham City to work as a secretary. She met and married her eternal companion, Gordon Carter Jensen, on August 20, 1947 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. After a few months in Rock Springs, Caroline and Gordon returned to Brigham City where they spent 65 happy years together. They were wonderful parents to four children. Gordon passed away February 5, 2008 after which Caroline moved to her daughter’s home in East Garland, just a few minutes from her childhood home. Her family grew to include 15 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren, with two more expected soon. Caroline had a deep love for her Savior and strong testimony of the gospel. She served faithfully in many capacities in the LDS Church, including Relief Society and Primary President and several years in the Mutual. Caroline and Gordon served twelve and one half years in the Ogden Temple and together they spent countless hours doing home extraction. Caroline lovingly supported and cared for her family, assuring each one they were her favorite. She was talented at cross-stitch, crocheting and sewing. She enjoyed watching Jazz games with her grandsons and shopping with her daughters and granddaughters. For many years, she attended the Utah Shakespearean Festival with her sisters, daughters and nieces. Caroline is survived by her son Paul Gordon (Charla) Jensen of North Logan, daughters Jane (Gordon) Johnson of Bountiful, and Pamela (Roger) Stringham of East Garland, brother Donald (Eleanor) Petersen and sisters-in-law Betty Jean Petersen and Ruth Jensen as well as many much-loved nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sweetheart Gordon, son Bruce Noble Jensen, granddaughter Lindsey Holland, her parents, her siblings Richard Petersen, Rae (Garth) Rasmussen, Betty Jean “BJ” Petersen, Lois Elaine (Eugene “Slim”) Christoffersen and Marian Louise Meade.
