RIVERSIDE – Charles “Charlie” Alvey Leavitt, 63, passed away on October 20, 2016 in South Jordan, Utah surrounded by his loving family. He was born on April 29, 1953 in Logan, Utah to Anna June Alvey and Joe LaClair Leavitt.
Charles graduated from Brighton High School, attended Denver Automotive, and then Salt Lake Community College with courses in welding. He worked as a welder and then became a certified welding inspector.
He loved to read, fish, work on cars and especially loved to be with his kids. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
Charles is survived by his children: Joe James (Janet), Matthew (Iris), Nathan (Cassey), Austin Riddle, Levi, Dustin, Asher, Joshua, Katee and Charlee; parents, Jim & June Hanson; 4 grandchildren; sisters, Bobbi (Mont) Widerberg, Angie (Evan) Iliff and Linette (Rob) Hansen and brother, Brad (Debbie) Hanson.
He was preceded in death by his father, Joe Leavitt.
The family would like to offer a special thanks to Dr. Chad Merrell and his hospice nurses Cheryl & Shonell.
A viewing will be held Thursday Oct. 27 from 6-8 pm at Rogers & Taylor Funeral Home (111 N. 100 E – Tremonton). The funeral will be held on Friday, Oct. 28, 2016 at 11:00 am at the Belmont LDS Chapel (16925 N. 5200 W. – Riverside) with a viewing from 10:00-10:45 am. Interment at the Lewiston, UT cemetery.
