Charles Michael Wilson, (AKA Chuck, Chike, or Mike) age 74, passed away surrounded by his family on August 4, 2024, at his home in Plymouth, Utah. He was born on August 7, 1949, in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Jack Lamar Wilson and Mary Alta Warby.
Charles married Dixie Lee Steed on April 23, 1970, in Ogden, Utah, beginning a journey that took them to Germany and across various cities in Utah including Roy, Clearfield, Clinton, Syracuse, and finally Plymouth.
He graduated from Clearfield High School in 1967 and pursued his passion for automotive engineering at Weber State University. Throughout his career, Charles held positions at Al's Furniture and Utility Trailer, but his longest tenure was as an aircraft sheet metal mechanic at Hill Air Force Base, where he served for 30 years until his honorable retirement in 2006.
Charles proudly served and retired as a staff sergeant from the United States Army, Navy, and National Guard, receiving numerous awards for his exceptional service, notably for his contributions to Task Force Security. He was deeply involved in his community as a Plymouth town councilman, cub scout leader, and a member of the LDS church.
Beyond his professional and community commitments, Charles found immense joy in life's simple pleasures. A few being camping, fishing, riding his razor, and hunting. In his free time, he shared a passion for rock hounding with Dixie and creating jewelry from the rocks they collected. Alongside that, he was incredibly talented with woodworking and any other craft that caught his eye. Dixie, expressed pride in her husband for never having to call a mechanic or a handyman. He did it all and he did it well. Charles had deep rooted love and pride for his service in the military. He was proud to serve our country and community in any way that he could. Above all else, Charles treasured his grandbabies.
