Charles “Chuck” Allen Schwartz, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, unexpectedly passed away on November 20, 2015 in Kalispell, Montana surrounded by his family. He was sixty-nine years old.
Chuck was born in Kalamazoo, Michigan on September 30, 1946 to Douglas and Phyllis Rayman Schwartz. His younger years were filled with hunting, fishing, waterskiing, and camping in the great outdoors of Michigan. He graduated from Vicksburg High School in 1964 where he participated in the high school band and loved to play the trumpet. Chuck pursued his higher education at Western Michigan University where he graduated at the top of his class with a Bachelor’s in Science degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1969. He married his high school sweetheart, Myrna Grace, in 1967. Later, Chuck and Myrna were sealed for time and all eternity in the Ogden Temple on July 29, 1977.
After college, Chuck was employed by Boeing in Seattle, Washington. He was instrumental in helping to design and build the Boeing 747. Other employment opportunities took him to Thiokol in Promontory, Utah; Monsanto in Soda Springs, Idaho; CA Schwartz & Associates (his own surveying business) in Soda Springs, Idaho; and finally back to Thiokol where he retired in 2001.
Chuck is survived by his wife, Myrna; two daughters, Heather (Brady) and Schauna (Ben); six grandchildren, Hayden, Skyler (Shelby), Oakley, Steven, Aspen and Gracie; and one great-grandchild, Royce.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Douglas and Phyllis; his brother, Donald Francis Schwartz; parent in-laws, Roy and Barbara Grace; and many Chesapeake dogs.
Funeral Services for Chuck will be held on Saturday, Nov. 28, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Fielding Stake Center (4375 W. 15600 N.- Fielding, UT) with a viewing prior to the service from 9-10:30 a.m. There will also be a viewing on Friday evening from 6-8 p.m. both viewings will be held at the church. Interment will follow the services in the Fielding Cemetery.
