Clair Dale Coombs passed away at the age of 65 on April 10, 2024, in Logan, Utah. He was born on November 23, 1958, in Preston, Idaho to his loving parents Dale and LaRae Coombs.
Throughout his life, Clair resided in East Garland, Pocatello and Tremonton. He was a graduate of Bear River High School, class of 1977, as well as a seminary graduate. Clair pursued a career as a truck driver and lent his skills to various companies including Butler, Nelsons, Coombs and Sons Trucking and many others.
Fondly remembered for his love of fast cars and trucks, Clair was truly a free spirit. Many knew him by his nickname Gumby. He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, He was a three-year member of the FFA during high school and participated in high school football and was a member of the swim team.
On November 23, 1983, Clair married the love of his life, Danita Taylor Coombs in East Garland. Sadly, Danita passed away on April 6, 2017.
Clair is survived by his siblings Gayla Coombs, Curtis (Cristine) Coombs, Reatha (Drew) Hansen, Kevin (Yvonne) Coombs, Stephanie (Mark) Bowen, Mike (Fawn) Coombs; stepson Jaron Taylor; April Burris; numerous nieces and nephews and his faithful companion Maximus "Max," his beloved dog.
He is preceded in death by his parents Dale and LaRae Coombs and his dear wife Danita.
A graveside service to honor Clair's life will be held on Saturday, April 20th, 2024, at Noon at the Fielding Cemetery. Prior to the service from 10:30-11:15 A.M., there will be a viewing at Rudd Funeral Home-Garland (1234 S Main St., Garland).
The family expresses their heartfelt gratitude to Logan Regional Hospital, McKay Dee Cancer Center and Casey and Michelle Coombs for their care and support during Clair's time of need.
