Clayton Christensen

March 1, 1976 — February 18, 2017

Clayton Conley Christensen age 40 completed his courageous battle with Colon Cancer on Saturday February 18, 2017.

Clay was born on March 1st, 1976 in Tremonton Utah to Conley Blake Christensen and Jill Lynn Moore. He graduated from Bear River High School and served and LDS mission in the Taiwan Taipei Mission.  On November 20,1998, he married the love of his life, Mary Christine "Christy" Lower in the Logan LDS Temple.  Clay graduated from Utah State University in 2004 and gained employment at Ogden High School where he worked for 12 years.  He was a devoted teacher and highly admired by coworkers and students alike.  In addition to teaching, he also helped coach football, was a Student Body Advisor, HOSA advisor, Academic Olympiad coach, Science Department Head and CTE department head.

Clay was an avid outdoorsman and a diehard Utah State Aggies fan.  He loved hunting, fishing, and football.  Most of all he loved his family.  He had a very strong testimony of the LDS gospel and was a great example of faith, love, and strength.  Clay held many callings at church over the years.  Most recently 1st counselor in the Garland 3rd Ward bishopric, and touched many lives because of it.  He had the gift of being a friend and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Clay is preceded in death by his beloved grandparents Conley and Lorna Christensen and Larry Moore, his aunt Linda Butler, his cousins Russell Christensen, and Wade Mather.  Clay is survived by his wife, Christy (37); sons: Kada (15), Teak (12), parents, Blake and Jill Christensen; brothers: Adam (Tanya), Paul (Leslie), and sister, Cami; grandmother, Frances Moore, and many aunts, uncles, cousins, and nieces and nephews who all loved him very much.

A viewing will be held on Friday February 24, 2017 from 6 to 8 pm at Rogers & Taylor Funeral Home 111N. 100 E, Tremonton, UT.  Funeral services will be held on Saturday February 25, 2017 at 11:00 am with a viewing from 9:00 am to 10:30 am at the Tremonton South Stake Center, 1150 S Tremont Street, Tremonton, UT.

The family would like to thank all of the staff from Dr. Vincent Hansen’s office who helped Clay during his cancer battle.  He cared for you and all his “chemo buddies” dearly.  Also to Dr. Chad Merrill and staff for helping us whenever we needed it along the way, and an extra special thanks to his hospice nurse, Lisa for helping him finish his journey.
