Clinton Kurt "Tip" Ravsten, peacefully passed away on Sunday morning, May 26, 2024, in Tremonton, Utah, at the age of 87. He is preceded by his wife, Lola Ravsten, whom he married in 1958, and later was sealed for time and all eternity in 1999. Their union brought forth two amazing children, Diana and Leslie. More than anything, he loved his role as a father and grandfather, and is survived by his daughter Diana (Gary) Harris, 4 grandson’s; Josh (Sheridan) Harris, Jeff (Tricia) Harris, Tipper (Nikki) Harris, and Scott Harris, his 13 great-grandchildren, along with nieces, nephews, family, and friends.
Tip was born on October 8th, 1936, at his home in Clarkston, Utah. His parents, Lester and Leah Ravsten, and 2 older brothers, Judd and Scott, were present to celebrate his arrival. On this same day he received the nick-name "Tip", which was what everyone would know him by for the remainder of his life. Two more brothers, Joe and Danny, were later brought into the family, and this made up a close-knit family of five brothers, who together shared a lifelong bond and countless cherished memories. Their camaraderie and support for one another were a testament to the strength of family ties and brotherhood.
Tip has now been reunited with his father Lester, mother Leah, his son Les, and his brothers Joe, Scott, and Judd, along with other family members that have preceded him. He grew up with five brothers, spending his childhood years growing up in Clarkston, Utah.
Tip spent his early part of life dedicated to hard work, working on road construction then Thiokol. Whether it was providing for his family, working on his projects, or helping others in need, Tip approached every task with a strong work ethic.
He was a kind and loving man, Christlike in his actions, and he continuously served others in his family, community and church. He was known for being selfless. His family meant everything to him, and he put them above all else. He was the one you could follow. He taught all of us not only through his words, but through his actions. Throughout the years, he set an example for not only his children, but for others, as his random acts of kindness occurred daily. He loved hard and loved true. If you knew him, you unquestionably felt it! He had a heart full of compassion and a genuine concern for the well-being of others. Whether it was family, friends, or strangers, Tip always extended a listening ear, and a kind word. He left a legacy of love and care that will never be forgotten.
As a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Tip dedicated his life to the gospel of Jesus Christ. His unwavering faith, commitment to service, and love for the teachings of the Savior were evident in every aspect of his life. Tip served diligently in various church callings, always willing to lend a helping hand. He developed a strong testimony, and stood for what he believed in.
Tip wasn’t just a grandpa, he was the best grandpa a kid could ask for! His grandchildren were his pride and joy, and he poured endless love, wisdom, and joy into their lives. From telling captivating stories, sharing invaluable life lessons, teaching the simple things, and awesome grandpa hugs, grandpa Tip created a bond with his grandchildren that was truly extraordinary. His grandchildren will forever remember him as their greatest champion and friend.
Tip spent his life sharing his passions with those around him. He was always expressing joy, laughter, and love with everyone he met. He was known for his infectious sense of humor and jokes, and playful teasing, and he could light up any room with his presence. His jokes, stories, and laughter will be missed.
Among his greatest hobbies and joys was first and foremost “fishing”, as well as hunting, hobbies that he cherished from a young age. Whether at a local pond or reservoir with rod in hand, in the woods or mountains during the fall hunting seasons, or on family vacations, he found peace and happiness in the outdoors, and you could always guarantee a smile was on his face. He had a spirit of adventure, always eager to explore new places and experience new things. He found joy in discovering different destinations. He had a unique appreciation for the journey, always choosing the scenic route or the long way home. His love for winding roads, the countryside and mountains taught his family and friends the value of patience, wonder, and enjoying the ride. His travel stories and the memories he created with his loved ones will be cherished forever.
To his family and friends, Tip was more than just a husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother-in-law, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend… he was a LEGEND. His humble and loving personality, infectious lust for life, and countless stories, left a mark on everyone he met. Whether it was through his wisdom, his humor, or his unwavering love, he made every moment with him unforgettable. He was the rock of his family, a source of strength, and a beacon of love and laughter. His grandchildren adored him, not just for the stories he told or the adventures he took them on, but for the genuine love and attention he showered upon them. He taught them to find joy in the simple things, and to approach life with courage and a smile, not taking things for granted.
Tip’s legacy of greatness, unforgettable moments, and legendary spirit will live on in the hearts of his family and friends. We will forever cherish the incredible impact he had on our lives. He will be deeply missed but fondly remembered as the LEGEND he was, living on in every story told, every laugh shared, and every cherished memory.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 5, 2024, at Noon, with the viewing held prior from 9:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. All services will be held at the Deweyville/Riverview Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Chapel (10750 N 3000 W, Deweyville, UT 84309). The service will be recorded and will be uploaded within 24-48 hours after the service.
Interment will be at the Riverview Cemetery (175 E 1200 S, Tremonton, UT 84337).
