Cloe Truman Anderson, 97, passed away on July 21, 2024, in Tremonton, Utah. She was born in Huntington, Utah on January 9, 1927. Cloe was the only daughter of Iver Oscar and Meleta Cloe Black Truman. She had four older brothers. She graduated from North Emery High School in 1945 where she was involved in student government, debate, drama and twirled the baton for the band. Mom grew up during the depression and her high school years were encompassed by World War II.
She married Keith H. Anderson on January 30, 1946, in the Logan, Utah Temple. They began their life next to the Utah-ldaho border, near Strevell, Idaho. Here they began their family, broke up ground to dry farm, raising cattle and turkeys. In 1953 they moved to Bothwell, Utah and had a busy life raising children, livestock, dairy, poultry, and farming. Retiring in 1998 they moved to East Garland, Utah and enjoyed their family, friends and traveling. Mom traveled to all 50 states.
Mom always loved to garden, learn, read, and stay informed on current events. Cooking, baking, canning, and making chocolates were proficient skills in which she excelled. Mom fed many people at her table and didn't want anyone to be hungry in her home. She skillfully sewed lots of clothes, blankets, and quilts for others, earning awards at the fair on her quilts, flowers, and preserves. Mom had a determined work ethic and independent nature. She often said, "I'd rather wear out than rust out." She successfully took care of herself in her own home until she turned 97.
Mom was dedicated to her various church callings, leadership roles and community activities. Keith and Cloe served as ordinance workers in the Logan Temple for 14 years. They were missionaries in the Jacksonville Florida Mission. She was the President of the Women's North Box Elder Farm Bureau and active in the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers.
She is survived by her children: Kent (Kathy), Hal (Brooke), Dale (Laurie), Ted (Ida), Julia Christenson, Helen (Roy) Whiting, Don (Kim) and Marchelle (Justin) Nielson. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, and brothers: Woodrow, Bud, Karl, and Sherald. She has been blessed with a large posterity that continues to grow.
