Riverside, UT – C.M. “Red” Cornwall 85, passed away Sunday, November 2, 2014. He was born on August 18, 1929 in Tremonton, Utah to Mae Gertrude Andreason & Chauncey Miller Cornwall. He married Joyce Capener Cornwall on May 31, 1947 in Logan, Utah. They were later sealed on November 22, 1961 in the Logan LDS Temple. Joyce passed away on February 19, 2007.
During his life Red lived in Riverside, Utah. He attended and graduated from Bear River High School. He worked for Utah Power & Light as a line man and retired as a district manager in 1983. He also owned and operated Cornwall Saler Ranch.
He loved roping calves and was one of the founders of the Plymouth Rodeo. He was a member of the Box Elder County Sheriff’s Posse.
Red was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served as a bishop of the Belmont 2nd ward, a counselor in the Bishopric, counselor in the Branch Presidency and he served on a building committee for the Belmont Church. He also served as a Stake Missionary with his companion in the Fielding, Utah Stake for six years. They also served in the Logan LDS Temple and the North Park Branch Care Center.
Surviving are his children: Diane (Dennis) Coburn, Nancy (John) Magoon, Gene (Christine) Cornwall, Susan (Gordon) Robbins, Toni (Mitchel) Rogers, James Cornwall, Rusty (Teresa) Cornwall and Dawn (Ty) Baird; 30 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, three Sisters: Barbara Nelson, Carolyn “Kitty” Carr and Dixie Baxter and one brother, Steven Peluaga.
He was preceded in death by his parents, loving wife Joyce and daughter Gayle.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday November 6, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Belmont 2nd Ward LDS Chapel (16025 N 5200 W, Riverside, UT). There will be a viewing held prior to the funeral from 9:30-10:30 a.m. and on Wednesday evening November 5, 2014 from 6-8 p.m. also at the church. Interment will take place at the Riverside Cemetery.
