Garland- Darlene Cutler Hurd Potter, 86, passed away on March 2, 2016 at the Bear River Valley Hospital. She was born on July 31, 1929 in Snowville, Utah to Doyle J. & Amanda J. Neal Cutler. She attended Snowville Elementary and graduated from Bear River High School. She married Joseph J. Hurd in Logan, Utah on July 18, 1951. They were blessed with eight children. Joseph passed away on February 5, 1971. She then married Bill Potter. He passed away on June 5, 1999.
During her life she was a waitress, custodian, food service worker, kindergarten teacher and a substitute teacher. She loved bowling, reading, crocheting, word puzzles, and collecting yard ornaments and trinkets. She loved watching the Jazz and all of the Bear River High School sports. Her greatest joy was watching her grandchildren play sports.
Darlene was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in multiple callings in the church and was a member of the Red Hat Society and volunteered as a pink lady at the Bear River Valley Hospital.
She is survived by her Children, Betty (Sam) Coombs, Darla (Steve) Berry, Judy (Rick) Hawkley, Paula Anderson, Nancy (Victor, deceased) Yates, Jeffrey J. (Sherri) Hurd & Stephen (Karen) Hurd; 20 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren.
Darlene was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; Son, Mark Devere Hurd; grandson Sheldon P. Coombs and Daughter-in-law, Jeanette Hurd.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 7, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at the Fielding Stake Center (4375 W. 15600 N. Fielding, UT). A viewing will be held on Sunday evening, March 6, 2016 from 6-8 p.m. at the Rogers & Taylor Funeral Home (111 N. 100 E., Tremonton, UT) and prior to the service at the church from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Interment in the Snowville Cemetery.
