Darrell Jones

TREMONTON- Darrell James Jones, 79, passed away peacefully with his wife by his side on June 2, 2015 at the Bear River Care Center. Darrell was born on Oct. 21, 1935 in Salt Lake City, UT to Ila Marie Nunley & James M. Jones.

He attended school until he was 15, then he joined the military. He served in the Army and was a Sargent at the time of his honorable discharge. Darrell met Joyce Diann Basey at the NCO club at Ft. Leonard Wood, MO. They were later married in Des Moines, IA.  Darrell has lived in California, Iowa, Nevada and most recently Utah.

Darrell drove truck for Werner Enterprises out of Omaha, NE and retired in 2010. He enjoyed wood working and gardening. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He was always willing to help anyone that needed help. Most of all, Darrell was a great husband, father, grandfather and friend.

Darrell leaves behind his sweet wife, Joyce; children, Sherrie Housley, Sharrell Jones, David Jones and Marie Culliton; 8 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren and a sister, Karen Wadsworth.

He was preceded in death by his parents; two sons, Jesse Ogemaw and Darrell Jay Jones; a daughter, Margaret K Jones; and one sister, June Matthews.

Joyce would like to extend a special thanks to family, friends and all medical personnel that have helped care for Darrell.

There will be a graveside service with military honors on June 4, 2015 at 1 pm at the Riverview Cemetery in Tremonton with a viewing prior at Rogers & Taylor Funeral Home (111 N. 100 E.) from 12:00 – 12:30 pm.
