COLLINSTON –David Lonnie Alexander left this world and all those who love him on May 11, 2015, at the age of 83.
He was born in Whitney, Texas on January 13, 1932 to Cassie Bridgewater Alexander and Thomas Jefferson Alexander. David proudly served his country in the Navy as a gunnery aboard the USS Evanston in the Korean War. Upon his return he attended New Mexico State University where he studied electrical engineering.
David married Barbara Jo Samuel on October 12, 1956 and together they had 3 beautiful daughters: Tambra, Karen, and Marri. They later divorced. David married Gretchen Leathers on October 21, 1995 and together they had one son, Adam Oneil.
David Lived in Palm Springs and San Diego most of his adult life. He owned and operated Goodwin Electric and La Jolla Electric. He retired and relocated to Utah to be close to his daughters and grandchildren.
David enjoyed hunting, horseback riding, farming and team penning. His greatest joy was being a father.
David is survived by his wife, Gretchen; daughters, Tami Kimball, Karen (Lynn) Perry, and Marri (Mark) Castro, all of Tremonton, UT; Son, Adam, Collinston, UT; Sisters Jean (Louis) Shirley and Gwendolyn Hobbs both of Texas; 8 grandchildren and 1 great-grandson.
David was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Nathan, Grady, Glenn, and Lynn; Sisters, Marie, Ginger, Doris and Winnie.
An outside memorial service / open house is planned for May 18, 2015 at David’s Home(14185 N. 3100 W. Collinston, Utah) from 6-8 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Tremonton food pantry.
