Delmer Lee Wilson, Jr.

On September 28, 2013 after a valiant battle with cirrhosis of the liver at University of Utah Hospital our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle left behind his mortal body to be reunited with lost loved ones in heaven.

Born December 14, 1942 to Delmer Lee and Blanche Noriece Wilson in Huntsville, Missouri. He was the oldest of four children. He grew up in Missouri until he was 12 years old. He held a special place in his heart for Missouri and the life he had there. At which time his family then moved to Rupert, Idaho. After graduating from Minidoka High School, he met the love of his life his sweetheart Betty Broadhead Wilson. They were wed on November 30, 1962. They became eternal companions on July 23, 1965 in the Idaho Falls Temple.

Through their love and commitment they raised 10 beautiful children six girls and four boys and one special cousin. He held a special place in his heart for each and every one of his nieces and nephews and in laws. He loved them like they were his own. His family was important to him and keeping those bonds strong were what he lived for.

He left all of us with beautiful memories.

Our father had a deep love for our mother. He cherished every moment and worked hard to create great memories. He was a hard worker and taught his posterity the value of hard work and the reward of a job well done. He loves all his family unconditionally and told them as often as he could - Sabrina

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, mentor, and living example for all. He was a tradesman with many talents. He was a best friend to all of his family - Dartanian
He always had a book in his hand, no matter where he was. He was always there when we were in a pinch. He taught us the reward of an honest days work, no matter what the job may be - Tansy
He taught me how to fix things and to leave things better than you found them. He taught me to laugh and find the bright side even when you feel like crying. He showed us the joy of "getting out of dodge" and seeing the country - Montanaela
He was always the first one to come to the rescue for all of us when they needed it most. No matter what it was, he was our white knight riding to the rescue. He always told us "If I have the means to help, I will." -Machandra
Dad gave me his oldest son and then helped raise his grandson and granddaughter. He helped make them the people they are today - Paula
He never gave up. He was a fighter through it all. No matter what trials came into his life, he always had a smile and joke to be told. He was our sunshine on a cloudy day - His sweetheart Betty

He was a convert to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and held many callings throughout his life including his most recent one and by far one of his favorites a primary teacher with his wife. He loved teaching the children.

He is survived by his eternal companion Betty, as well as his children Starlene (Gary) Weatherston, Sabrina (Danny) Jones, Destry Lance Wilson, Tishara (John) Ward, Dartanian Lehi Wilson (Amy Smart), Tansy (David) Talbot, Montanaela (Jared) Loftiss, Machandra (Jon) Wilson, Elvonnia Ledford, adopted son Lee Worley and daughter in law Paula Higley, his brother and sister David Allen Wilson, and Diane (LeeRoy) Adamson and his mother in law Ione MacBass. He had 43 grandchildren, and 7 great grandchildren. He is also survived by many special nieces and nephews and extended family.

He is preceded in death by his parents; one brother Danny Edward; two sons Dee Lorenzo, Dario Layne; two granddaughters Tulip Loftiss, Jaya Wilson; brother in law James Hunter and father in laws Orville Lorenzo Broadhead, and William Jack MacBass. Whom were ready to welcome him home.

The viewing will be held on Tuesday October 1, 2013 at the Belmont Ward Church house 16925 N. 5200 West, Riverside, Utah from 6-8 pm and the morning before the funeral services from 9-10:30 am. A celebration of his legacy will be held on Wednesday October 2, 2013 at 11:00 am at the same location.
