Deo C Johnsen

I Deo Christensen Johnsen passed away on Friday, May 17, 2024, at home. I was the first child born to Merwin Parley Christensen and Priscilla Ellen Robbins. I was born in my Grandpa Parleys home in Elwood, Utah March 16, 1929. I was told that on the day I was born there were 5ft snow drifts. 

We lived in Tremonton, Utah from the time I was one year old. I attended Mckinley grade school and graduated from Bear River High School in 1947. I attended Brigham Young University. After one year I then worked in Tremonton for a year. During this year I met Melvin Keith Johnsen. We were married on September 16, 1949, in the Logan temple. M. Keith passed away on January 14, 2005. 

We are the parents of four precious sons. Randy Keith (Deceased) (Raleen), Dane Alden (Hazel), Mark Duval (Deceased), Todd Clay (Wendy).

Our mother worked as a substitute teacher and taught piano lessons. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was a pianist and chorister for the church. She had a strong testimony of the gospel and loved her Heavenly Father. 

Deo loved to quilt, play cards, and travel.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, two sons, sister and brother, her parents, and a great grandson. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law; 17 grandchildren, 40 great grandchildren and one more on the way, and 16 great-great grandchildren; brother Gayle Christensen and a special adopted daughter Susan Jenson.

The viewing will be held on Thursday, May 23, 2024, from 9-10:30 A.M. with a funeral to follow at 11 A.M. All services will be held at the Bear River City LDS church (5870 N 4700 W, Bear River City). Interment in the Bear River City Cemetery. The service will be livestreamed and may be accessed below.
