Diana Barnes

November 15, 1931 — October 19, 2012

Diana Jean Roche Barnes Beloved mom, grandma, great-grandma, sister and friend passed away October 19, 2012. Mom was born September 15, 1931 to AE Roche and Alice Erma Anderson. She was raised in Thatcher, Utah and married dad (Dale Myron Barnes) December 8, 1948 in the Logan LDS Temple. Mom lived her entire married life in Tremonton. They were married 57 yrs when dad passed away in 2005. Mom was happiest when serving in the Primary, Young Women’s MIA or Relief Society. She served many and formed very special friendships through her service. Mom saw great pleasure cheering on all her kids in their sports and activities (sometimes a bit loudly)! She spent many years playing softball and cherished the friendships she made with teammates and coaches. Mom’s special love was making her yard look beautiful and spent countless hours in this pursuit. Mom’s grandchildren have countless special memories they spent with Grandma Jean over the years. After dad’s passing Mom continued to live in her home until health problems brought her to spend time with sister Mickey in St. George. Her granddaughter Tonia Jardine then helped care for her in Syracuse. Last year mom moved to Chancellor Gardens in Clearfield where she lived until her death. Mom is survived by sons Gary (Becky) and Roger (Judy) Barnes and daughters Peggy (David) Deaver and Patsy (Becky) Barnes. She has 13 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren. Her surviving sisters are Ora Lewis, Janice Chournos, Marie “Mickey” Newman, Connie Fridal, and Vickie Archibald. She is also survived by her brother, Milton Roche. Mom is preceded in death by husband, Dale and son, Ivan. Parents AE and Alice Roche and sisters Phyllis Valentine, Juanita Evans, Blanche Pledger, Ruth Steed, Margie Peters and brothers Vern, Douglas and Frank Roche also preceded her in death. The family would like to express our sincere thanks to Mickey and Duane Newman and Tonia and Mike Jardine for the love and support they showed mom. We’d also like to thank the staff at Chancellor Gardens for their care. Funeral services will be held at Tremonton 3rd Ward on Wednesday, October 24th at 11:00 am. Viewings will be Tuesday, October 23rd 6:00-8:00 p.m., at Rogers Mortuary, 111 N 100 E, Tremonton; and one hour prior to services, 10-10:45 a.m., at the church. Interment will be at Tremonton City Cemetery
