Donald Laub

Donald Carl Laub-Our father, grandfather & great-grand father passed away peacefully in his sleep early Thursday morning, February 2, 2012. Don was born October 18, 1922 in Fielding, UT. He joined the CCC’s in 1937 and worked as head chain man on a survey crew at Zions National Park, Bryce Canyon, Wayne Wonderland, Timpanogoes Caves, etc. He left the CCC’s in 1938. He joined the U.S. Navy in, Los Angeles, in 1942 and was stationed in the South Pacific. He was honorably discharged in February 1946. He married Mary Etta Lambert December 10, 1945 in Yuma, AZ. He later earned a Master’s degree in Geology and worked many years for Phillips Petroleum, retiring in 1982, as Exploration Director for the entire U.S.A. in the Minerals Division. He moved to Belmont Springs in 1982 and He & Mary enjoyed golfing almost daily as long as they were able. He was a great father and friend and will be greatly missed. Don was survived by his wife Mary; sons: Jeffrey C. (Carole), Mark C. (Jennie), David R., and William D (Jane) Laub. Graveside services will be held on Monday February 6, 2012 at 2:15 pm in the Fielding Cemetery. A viewing will be held that morning from 12:30 – 1:30 pm at Rogers and Taylor Funeral Home,111 N 100 E in Tremonton.
