Donald Landen Sinex [Landen] born on the luckiest day 08/08/08 son of D. Scott and Emily (Rolfe) Sinex passed away peacefully in his mama’s loving arms, in his home on February 26th surrounded by his loving family.
During Landen’s 14 years he went through many stages caused by the progression of his disease. Many remember the sweet and determined toddler who loved the wind and rain. He would climb up on any table and push everything off. He loved his walker and to be outside with his brother playing in the grass. He was a happy child who loved to laugh and giggle with his head back and hands wiggling above his head. He loved spaghetti, chocolate ice cream and M&Ms.
Others remember Landen as the small child who, though weaker, was happy to crawl up on any lap and demand to be snuggled. He loved swinging and sitting by bright cold windows laughing. He would often pull blankets over his head and hum and sing. School was one of his favorite places where he found a wonderful group of friends and teachers who loved him very much. He loved to ride his adaptive bike around the hallways of his elementary school.
As he grew bigger and had less control over his body his physical limitations grew. Yet he still remained a loving child who made anyone who spent time with him feel love. Even after losing his ability to convey his emotions and laugh he still expressed his love and found joy in small things especially snuggling and soft blankets.
Landen attended school at Garland Elementary, Alice C Harris Intermediate and Bear River Middle School. Where he received so much love and support from teachers, friends and staff, many of them becoming like family.
Landen leaves behind his loving family; parents Scott and Emily Sinex and siblings Brayden, Dylen and Ashten. He also leaves behind his paternal grandparents Don and Carma Sinex and maternal grandmother Cindy Rolfe. As well as many aunts, uncles and cousins. He is met on the other side by his papa (maternal grandfather) Timothy Rolfe.
An intimate viewing will be held March 10th. Family and loved ones who worked closely with Landen are invited to attend. A celebration of life will be held March 11th from Noon-3:00 pm at the Garland Tabernacle. We invite the community who loved and served Landen through his life. We welcome anyone who would like to share love, condolences and to have a meal with the family and share in Landen’s memory.
