Doris Stander Burton, age 94 passed away on May 11, 2012 in Tremonton Utah. Doris was born on April 28, 1928 in Brigham City Utah to Nels and Francis Stander. She was reared and educated in Brigham City and graduated from Box Elder High School. Doris married Golden Ransom Burton on November 16, 1938 for eternity in the Salt Lake LDS temple. Golden passed on November 20, 2006. Doris worked as an Avon lady and as a sales clerk for 21 years at Cowleys Department store which later became Falks. Doris was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints serving in various callings in her ward and also enjoyed doing Extraction work. Her hobbies included crocheting, embroidering, counted cross stitching, quilting and shopping with her sisters and daughters. Doris is survived by her children: Jeanne (Ruelen) Egli, Garland UT, Darwin (Gloria) Burton, Stockton CA., Jeri (Richard) Fox, Broomfield CO., Christine (David) Percival, Petersboro, UT. She is also survived by her sister Merle Christensen, 15 grandchildren and 39 great- grandchildren. Family would like to thank her good friends that came to visit her at “Our House”, North Park Branch, Our House staff and Access Hospice for their kindness and care. A special thanks to her sister Merle who watched out for our mother. The family will greet visitors at a viewing on Tuesday, May 15 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Thatcher-Penrose LDS meeting house, 11475 W 10400 N in Thatcher UT. Funeral services will follow the viewing at 11:00 a.m. at the church.
