Doris Wood

Our dear mother Doris Christensen Wood, 96, was called home on Wednesday, September 30, 2015. She was born in Brigham City, Utah to James and Anna Nielsen Christensen.

Doris graduated from Box Elder High School then lived in Salt Lake City, working at a local department store. She married Vyrle O Wood on February 5, 1938. They lived in Howell, Pocatello Valley and Tremonton.

Doris was active in the LDS church holding several positions in the Primary, Mutual and Sunday School organizations. She worked as a supervisor at Brigham Apparel for 15 years and as a volunteer in the Tremonton Hospital for 10 years. In later years she lived at the Our House Assisted Living facility in Tremonton. Doris loved gardening, sewing and genealogy.

Doris is survived by children: Judy (Ron) Wood Ratcliffe, Nancy A Wood, Brent V Wood, Barbara (Sam) Wood Smith and 7 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, October 6, 2015 at 11:00 AM in the Tremonton 1st Ward at 166 N Tremont St, Tremonton, Utah. Friends may visit family prior to services from 9:00 – 10:30 AM at Rogers and Taylor Funeral Home, 111 N 100 E Tremonton, Utah. Interment will be at the Brigham City Cemetery.
