Dorothy Jean Winebrenner Boyer, age 97, peacefully passed away on June 2, 2024, in Garland, UT. She was born on May 3, 1927, in Mishawaka, IN to Earl Winebrenner and Cora Ellen Winebrenner.
On March 10, 1950, Dorothy married Francis Richard Boyer in the Salt Lake Temple in Salt Lake City, Utah. Together they shared many happy years until his passing on January 27, 2011.
Throughout her lifetime, Dorothy resided in various locations including South Bend IN; Springville, UT; Garland, UT; Allegan, MI; and Rockford, IL. She pursued education at BYU for two years before establishing a successful career as a chemist at L. Perrigo Co in Allegan, Michigan for 14 years and later in data entry for the State of Illinois for an additional 25 years.
Dorothy's primary focus was her family and serving her church community. Known as a compassionate friend to all who had the pleasure of crossing her path. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Left to cherish her memory are her sons Richard Allen Boyer of Garland, UT, David Lynn Boyer of Allegan, MI, James Bruce Boyer of Sherwood, AR, Steven Eric Boyer of Sycamore, IL; along with a legacy that includes 19 grandchildren; 57 great-grandchildren; and 7 great-great-grandchildren.
Dorothy is preceded in death by her beloved husband Francis Richard Boyer and her daughter Lucinda Boyer Marshal.
Following a life well-lived and filled with love and kindness towards others, Dorothy will be laid to rest at Belvidere Cemetery in Belvidere Illinois.
The family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude to Symbii Home Health and Hospice, as well as Becky Barrett (caregiver and friend), and all those who showed kindness, concern, and compassion to Dorothy throughout her life.
