Garland-Eileen Patricia Nicholas passed away on February 16, 2012 at Williamsburg Assisted Living in Logan UT. She was born February 12, 1919, the daughter of Anna Agerson and David Chambers and stepdaughter of Mathias Zogg. Eileen grew to adulthood in southwestern Iowa and in 1941 moved to Washington D.C. to accept employment with the Department of Agriculture. It was there that she met and was married to Hatcher C. Davidson, a career Army man from Wytheville, Virginia. They were married on October 11, 1941 in Arlington VA. And lived on various Army posts in the United States and Germany until October 29, 1954, when he was fatally injured in an accident. He is buried in Arlington National Cemetery. In 1955 she moved to California, where she met D. Wayne Nicholas in 1958. They were married in Santa Ana and then moved to a small farm near Days Creek, Oregon, where she became a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. In 1961 they moved to Bear River City, UT so he could be closer to his children by previous marriages. Eileen served in several church positions, including Relief Society counselor, Sunday School teacher and Gospel Doctrine teacher. In 1991 they moved to Garland, UT. On October 24, 2004, Wayne passed away from congestive heart failure aggravated by smoke inhalation from a fire which destroyed their home, garage and all of their property on November 29, 2003. Eileen is survived by one brother, Eugene Zogg of AZ., three nieces; Sandy (Bruce) Richins, Doreen Zogg, Patricia (Robert) Cosso, three nephews; Robert Zogg, Jeffery Zogg, and Edward (Kathy) O’Toole. And the following stepchildren: Tamara (ED) Dayton, Cokeville, WY, Kathryn (William) Hughes, Beaver Dam, UT, Richard (Lori) Nicholas, Bothwell, UT, Barbara (Hal) Hawkins, Blackfoot, ID and stepdaughter-in-law Shannon Nicholas, Honeyville UT. Two sisters, Doreen O”Toole, Barbra Nish, one stepson, Dwight Nicholas, and three step grandchildren preceded her in death. Funeral services will be held Friday February 24, 2012 at 11:00 am at Rogers and Taylor Funeral Home 111 N 100 E Tremonton, UT. Viewings will be held Thursday February 23 from 6-7:30 pm and before the funeral from 9:30-10:30 am. Interment will be at the Willard City Cemetery.
