Elaine Anderson

November 17, 1925 — May 12, 2011


Elaine Beckstead Anderson Garland – Born November 17, 1925 in Preston, Idaho to Hesy and Adelia Quayle Beckstead. She grew up on the family farm in Whitney, Idaho. She loved Utah, but she was proud to be from Idaho. Elaine graduated from Preston High School in 1944 and went on to attend Utah State. While there she met the love of her life, Glenn Eldon Anderson. They were married in the Salt Lake Temple on September 20, 1946. Elaine and Glenn lived in Logan, UT; McCammon, ID; and Washington Terrace, UT, before moving to Pleasant View, UT where they built their dream house and raised their six children. She served many callings in the LDS church and she and Glenn were able to serve a LDS mission in the Ogden Temple. After graduating from USU, she taught for many years at Bonneville Elementary (Ogden School District). Mom and Dad enjoyed spending time with family and friends at their cabin and camping. Many good times were had at the “Line Shack.” In their later years they moved to Garland, where they were closer to the cabin. She is survived by her six children; Laura Lee Woolsey, Garland. Valorie(Roland) Stander, Bear River City. Eldon(Kerrie) Anderson, Ogden. Sydnie(Brent) Larsen, Centerville. Wendy(Steve) Christensen, Shelley, ID. Christy(Bob) Blair, Las Cruces, NM. Sisters Amaryllis Moser, Virginia Jensen, and Alyson Beckstead. Sisters-in-law Maralea and Ann Beckstead. Mother was very proud of her many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. Proceeded in death by Glenn, her parents, brothers Hesy, Ashton, Roger, son-in-law Gerald Woolsey and grandson baby Lowe. A viewing will be held Sunday, May 15 from 6-8 pm at Rudd Funeral Home, 1234 South Main Garland, UT. Graveside services will be held Monday, May 16 at 11 am at the Garland Cemetery, 13525 North 6000 West. Mother gave generously to the missionaries in her life and in lieu of flowers please send your well wishes to this program.
