Elmer David Simmons passed away peacefully on December 3, 2014. He was born on June 18, 1940 in Cranbrook, British Columbia, Canada to Joseph Henry and Ella Elizabeth Hyde Simmons.
David worked as a farmer, sawmill worker, miner and worked at a meat plant. He was a Jack of all trades.
He married Sherron Jones on July 27, 1972 in the Cardston LDS Temple in Alberta, Canada.
David lived in Alberta, British Columbia, the Northwest Territories, Idaho and Utah.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served in the California South Mission, Anaheim, Orange County from November of 1969 to November of 1971.
David is survived by his wife, Sherron Simmons, Daughters, Mischelle Nielson, Megan (Jeff) Black, Grandkids, Lisa Nielson, Krystal (Elliott) Gottschalk, Dale (Sharee) Simmons, Christine Taylor, Great Grandkids, Brinlee Childs, Jordan Gottschalk, Brothers, Clarence Simmons & Jack Simmons and numerous family members in Canada.
He was preceded in death by great grandson, Bryken Trevor Simmons, Sisters, Catherine Simmons, Jessie Johnson, Florence Linstein, Stella and brothers, Henry Simmons & Dennis Simmons.
Services for David will be held on Monday, December 8, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Belmont LDS Chapel (16925 N 5200 W Riverside). There will be a viewing prior to the service from 9:30-10:30. Burial will be held in the Plymouth Cemetery.
