Esta (Jones) Pierson

Esta Jones Pierson, 85, passed away on April 21, 2025, in Tremonton, Utah. She was born on July 14, 1939, to David Benjamin Jones and Ruby Ainsworth Johnson. When she was born her family was so excited to finally have a baby girl after five boys!

Growing up, Esta experienced a childhood filled with happiness, though it was also touched by sorrow, as she faced the loss of three of her brothers and both of her parents by the age of 16.

On June 28, 1958, Esta married Orvin E. Pierson in Fielding, Utah. They were later sealed in the Logan, Utah temple on April 3, 1964. Esta devoted her life to her family and community, living in Fielding her entire life. She attended and graduated from Bear River High School and later the LDS Business College. She worked at the Bear River Valley Hospital and the Bear River Clinic.

Her passions included playing the piano, candy making, sewing, crocheting, golfing, and cooking good food for everyone. She often took food to those in Fielding that she thought might need a visit. She spent her life serving others. Esta loved playing games, especially cards. She still had her Monday night card group that she so looked forward to each week.

Esta’s family was her pride and joy. She loved completely and was loved by all who her knew her. She was a devoted member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where she held numerous callings, including those in Primary and Young Women, served as a pianist and organist, and participated in a service mission alongside Orvin.

Esta is survived by her beloved husband, Orvin E Pierson; her children Randy (Tiffinee), Lori (Scott) Pugh and Eric (Peggy); and her legacy continues with 11 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents David Benjamin and Ruby Ainsworth Jones; her six brothers Dale, Big Dwane, Jack, Owen, Thayne, and Little Dwane; as well as her granddaughter Hannah Ruby Pierson and great-granddaughter Freya Vi Hancey.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at 12:30 P.M. with a viewing held prior from 10 A.M.-12 P.M. All services will be held at the Fielding Stake Center (4375 W 15600 N- Garland). Interment will take place in the Fielding Cemetery. The service will be livestreamed and can be accessed below.

Esta will always be remembered for her warm spirit, generous heart, and the love she shared with everyone around her.
