Our loving Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Great-Great Grandmother & Sister, was welcomed into the loving arms of her family & loved ones May 01, 2015.
Esther was born march 07, 1919 in Ukiah, California to Vernon Nathan Fales and Annie Laurie Lee-Fales.
She was the 2nd born of seven children, four girls and three boys.
Esther was raised and went to school in Dos Rios, California on the banks of the Eel River. Her father made sure that she knew how to swim at a very young age, as a result his little “FLANNIGAN” as he affectionately called her was a beautiful swimmer.
As a young teen she developed her artistic talent of drawing with color pencil, ink, water colors and pencil. She also excelled in horsemanship doing queen contests and rodeo events. Her Grandchildren and Great-Great Grandchildren inherited her artistic talent and horsemanship abilities.
Esther married Oiva Alfred Johnson August 11, 1937. This marriage was blessed with three children: two girls and one boy.
Their family home was in Fort Bragg, California. Esther was a stay at home mom, besides the normal duties, she grew big vegetables gardens that she canned. They raised ducks and had a duck pond. She also grew lovely flower beds.
Best of all her children loved when she would take all of them to the beach or to one of the many swimming holes in the local rivers.
Esther became a widow at the age of 36 when her loving husband passed away in 1955. Years later she married Howard Jones. They were marred 25 years until he passed away in 1989. During their marriage they live in California, Nevada, Oregon, Arizona and Missouri.
Esther then moved back to Fort Bragg, California where she lived until 2009 when her daughter Norma and Granddaughter Martina, traveled to California to move her to Tremonton where she lived for the past six years until her death.
Esther is survived by her daughters Norma Lasa, Portage, Utah; Joan Farmer, Antelope, California; ten Grandchildren, fourteen Great-Grandchildren and twelve Great-Great Grandchildren with one more due any day, one brother Tom Fales, Anderson, California and one sister Mary Ann Tryon, Weaverville, California.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband Ovia Alfred Johnson, her husband Howard Jones, two brothers Frank, Vernon and two sisters Elaine and Laurie, beloved son Alfred Wesley Johnson, one great-grandson Joshua Lasa Wornek.
Funeral Services for Esther will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, May 6, 2015 at Rogers & Taylor Funeral Home (111 N. 100 E. – Tremonton, UT) a viewing will be held prior to the service from 10-10:45 at the funeral home. Burial will follow the service in the Malad City, ID Cemetery.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the Bear River Valley Care Center for all the love and kindness they showered on Esther. She was very content and happy with each and every person that took part in her care. Thank you is not enough, words can never repay your service to Esther:
