Bothwell, Utah- Farrell Summers 87, passed away at his home Friday, August 28, 2009. Farrell was born October 1, 1921 to James and Tennie Summers in Bothwell , Utah. He married LaNae Bourne on December 24, 1940. Their marriage was later solemnized on July 1, 1942 in the Logan LDS Temple. Farrell Lived in Bothwell his entire life. He went to elementary school in Bothwell and then attended Bear River High School. He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints where he served in many positions including, Sunday School President, Ward Clerk, a faithful Home Teacher, Elders Quorum Presidency, and other various church callings. He loved people and touched many lives. Farrell served on the Bothwell Town Board and helped found the Bothwell 24th of July celebration. He enjoyed farming and spending time with his family. He had many friends and neighbors and enjoyed visiting with them. He is survived by his loving wife , four sons, and two daughters, F. Kirk (Mary Ann) Summers, Great Falls MT, W. Blair (Linda) Summers, Bothwell UT, LaNette (Monty) Jones, Fielding UT, CSM Bruce (Susan) Summers, Draper UT, Michael S. (Kristin) Summers, Thatcher UT, Susan (Jeffrey) Nielsen, Bothwell, UT, 29 grandchildren, 59 Great-Grandchildren, 4 Great-Great-Grandchildren Farrell was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers, Maynard, Reginald, Marion, Orion, three sisters, Zelda, Norma, LaVera, three grandsons and one great-great grandson. Special thanks to Dr. Chad Merrell and staff for their love and concern, to the EMS staff and the staff at Bear River Valley Hospital for their skilled care, kindness and compassion. Funeral Services will be held Monday, August 31, at 11:00 am at the Bothwell Church 10350 W 11600 N. Friends may call from 6 – 8 pm on Sunday, August 30, at the Bothwell Church, and on Monday, August 31, from 9:00 to 10:30 at the Bothwell Church. Interment will be in the Bothwell Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the LDS Church missionary fund or the Humanitarian fund.
