Faye Larsen

Faye Beth Holland Bessinger Larsen, 94, passed away on April 18th, 2013 in Preston, ID.

Faye was born July 31, 1918 in Brigham City, UT. She was the daughter of John Henry Holland and Edith Ida Rose. Faye married Albert Bessinger, Jr. of Tremonton, UT on November 2, 1935. Faye and Albert (deceased) had six sons; Richard, Clyde (deceased), Robert, Dennis (deceased), Max (deceased) and Garry. Faye married Dale Larsen on August 15, 1967, Dale had 2 sons and 3 daughters; Joan, LaNae, Rodney, Connie and David. Faye had 9 brothers and sisters; Dick (deceased), Jack (deceased), Betty (deceased), Kathleen (deceased), Dorothy, Max, Connie, Darlene and Mary. Faye has a total of 29 grandchildren, 51 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

Faye was the oldest child and grew up in Bear River City, UT. Faye Loved to tell her children stories of her youth and especially her grandparents, Matilda Rose and Paulina Holland. Running the hills at Little Mountain and catching carp at the Bear River and selling them. Faye met her future husband, Albert, at a mutual dance, fell in love and were married in Ogden, UT. They made their home in Tremonton, UT and had a small farm, sold eggs, had the Bessinger Coal Company and later the Culligan Soft Water Company in Tremonton.

When Albert passed away she met and married Dale Larsen of Mink Creek, ID, they stayed in Tremonton for two years then moved full time to the Bear Creek Idaho Farm. Connie being 15 and David only 8 moved back to the farm with them, soon Connie was gone which left David at home, mom always called David her little fringe benefit. Mom always loved to have kids and grandkids come up to the farm to ride horses, haul hay and of course clean mop boards.

When Faye and Dale reached 62 they were able to spend the winters in Mesa, AZ. They made many new friends and always had great stories of what they did. Faye and Dale were very much in love and had a great long marriage. Dale passed away on November 1, 2010 at the age of 93. Mom has always said she was so lucky to have been married to two great men.

Faye loved to be involved with worthwhile organizations; she was past president of the Tremonton Civic Club, and past president of the Northern District Federated Women’s Club and Charter President of the Franklin County Pink Ladies. Her greatest passion of all was golf, in Tremonton she would be the first one on the course and served as the President of the Skyway Women’s Association and when she came to Preston she served in the same position.

Funeral services will be held at Rogers and Taylor Mortuary (111 N. 100 E. – Tremonton) at 12:00 noon on Thursday, April 25, 2013. Viewing for family and friends will be from 10:30-11:45 a.m. prior to the funeral. Interment will follow at the Riverview Cemetery in Tremonton, Utah.
