Garnett "Garnie" Price

BEAR RIVER CITY- Garnett “Garnie” S. Wolverton Price, age 84, passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by family on August 1, 2017. She was born on March 29, 1933 in Plymouth, Utah to Leonard and Ilene Steed Wolverton.

Garnie attended Plymouth Elementary and McKinley Elementary, then attended Bear River High for the 9th Grade. She met the love of her life, DeLown “Jake” Price, and married him on June 16, 1949 in Tremonton, Utah. They were sealed for time and all eternity in the Logan Temple on June 22, 1965. Together they lived in Garland, then moved to Bear River City and have lived there for 50 years. Jake passed away in July of 2002.

Mom was a hard worker. She ran a small house cleaning business and cleaned many homes throughout the years and throughout the valley. She never missed a grandchild’s ballgame, she was a Jazz fan from the beginning, loved needle work and loved people. Garnie was a member of the BRC 1st Ward and served as the ward librarian for 30 years.

Garnie is survived by her children: Wendell DeLown (Estelle-Sam) Price, Leonard Hal Price, Ryla (Stan) Haramoto, Kelly Lynn (Danny) Trammell, LaDee (Becky) Price; grandson: JW (Kaycie) Price; sisters: Arla Rae Iverson and LeeAnn (Larry) Waters; 15 grandchildren & their spouses; 27 great-grandchildren; and 1 great-great-grandchild. She is preceded in death by her husband; granddaughters: LaDawn Lenkersdorfer, Lexia Price; brother: J. Lee Wolverton; and a sister: Lenna Hamilton.

The family would like to thank Hospice, Rita, Debbie, Tammy, Eva, Lisa, Brooklyn & Julia. Also Dr. Jon Markeson & his staff, numerous family members and friends, the BRC 1st Ward members, relief society and bishopric.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 5, 2017 at 11:00 am at the Rogers & Taylor Funeral Home (111 N. 100 E.- Tremonton) with a viewing prior from 9:30-10:30 am. There will also be a viewing Friday evening from 6-8 pm at Rogers & Taylor Funeral Home (111 N. 100 E.- Tremonton). Burial will be in the Plymouth Cemetery.
