Garth was a friend to all and was always happy and smiling. He loved his family very much and always told them daily how much he loved them and that they were his best friends. He was very warm and loving and a protective friend and was there for anyone who needed him. He attended Bear River High School and earned his diploma, and enjoyed playing football there, as well as enjoyed playing city baseball and basketball. Garth was always the life of the party and would brighten a room with his light. He was funny, and enjoyed making people laugh, and enjoyed singing rap music for his friends and family. Garth had a love for fishing, camping, and the great outdoors. He enjoyed working for Bear Lake Aquatics scout camp as a leader and life guard, and also worked at Nelson Metals, Burger King, and Eakle farms. Garth was a big fan of the Utah State Aggies and the Denver Broncos, and was actively involved in politics and loved to voice his opinion and views on different topics. He was seriously looking into running for office for the libertarian party. He also had a great love for his country and wished to serve in the military. Garth had a great testimony and love for the gospel of Jesus Christ, and it was one of his dreams and goals to serve an LDS mission in the future. Garth will be greatly missed by all, but it is comforting to know that he now serves his mission in the next life.
Garth was preceded in death by his grandmothers: Gena Bullard, and Norlena Covington; and great grandmothers: Betty Womack, Lola Shepherd, Nora Spendlove, and Lillian Covington; and his great grandfathers: Justin Covington, Elvin Shepherd, and Roland Spendlove.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the “Garth Shepherd funeral fundraiser account” at Wells Fargo bank to help cover funeral and medical expenses, and wish to thank family, friends, Tremonton 6th ward, and Bear River hospital for their compassionate loving service and support in their time of need.
