Gloria Deana Millward

Deana Millward passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones Wednesday, July 5, 2023.

Deana was born on October 31, 1962 in Brigham City, Utah to Eddie Mack Barela and Delfinia Maria Barela.

On October 16, 1981 she married the love of her life Michael Craig Millward. In June of 1982 she became a mom of a baby girl, later in July of 1984 she welcomed her second bundle of joy. Her girls were always her pride and joy. In 1992 Deana was baptized into The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

Deana attended Fielding Elementary school, then went on to attend Bear River Middle School where she completed the 8^th grade, then decided to start working the fields to help her parents with finances.

Deana had a very strong work ethic. She held several laboring jobs some of which included La-Z-Boy, Tri-Valley, Western Metals, Autoliv, West Liberty, Vicars Trucking, and lastly Nucor Cafeteria. Deana was in management for many of those jobs.

Deana had many adventures throughout her life. In her earlier years she played on the La-Z-Boy softball team, she was a Young Women’s Leader, she coached softball for the Young Women’s, she was a Cub Scout Leader, she served the LDS church and she did crazy spontaneous things like bungee jumping. She enjoyed being with her girls, her grandchildren, her family, and her friends. Deana loved camping, she loved horses, and she loved 4-wheelers and motorbikes. She loved being silly, making up silly songs, dancing, making people laugh and being a practical joker. Deana was on the Portage Volunteer Fire Department where she served close to five years. She loved helping people anytime, anywhere. She was a selfless soul who loved to do right by our Father in Heaven.

Deana is survived by her daughters, Anna (Ryan) Starr, Vanessa (Corey) Warren; brothers, Herman (Linda) Archuleta, Jose “Tony” Archuleta, Felix (Bertha) Barela, Walter Barela; sisters, Becky Beltran, Charlotte (Ken) McCafferty, Shiralee Barela, Priscilla (Felix) Maldonado; two stepdaughters Elysia and Stacy; 14 grandchildren, two great grandchildren; several in-laws and many nieces and nephews.

Deana is preceded in death by her husband, Michael Millward; parents, Eddie and Delfinia Barela; sisters, Dorothy Sheriff and Margaret Barela; two sisters-in-law, three brothers-in-law; one great granddaughter; five nephews, two nieces, two mothers-in-law and several loved ones.

Deana was a well-liked person of the community and will be dearly missed by all who knew her. “We love you to the moon and back Momma. We’ll take it from here”.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 14, 2023 at 11 A.M. at the Plymouth LDS Church (16925 N 5200 W- Garland). Viewings will be held on Thursday, July 13, 2023 from 6-8 P.M. at Rogers & Taylor Funeral Home (111 N 100 E- Tremonton) and prior to the service at the church from 9:30-10:30 A.M. Interment in the Riverside Cemetery. The service will be livestreamed and may be accessed below.
