Golden Charles Sill, Jr

November 14, 1946 — September 19, 2023

Golden Charles Sill Jr. passed away on September 19, 2023, at his home in Tremonton Utah, surrounded by loving family and friends. He was born on November 14, 1946, to Golden and Genevieve Hare Sill in Ogden Utah.

Goldy grew up in Layton Utah, graduating from Davis High School in 1965. He stayed in touch with many of his friends from school until the time of his passing.

He proudly served in the US Army 1968-1969 as a Sgt E-5 Legal Assistant, while stationed in Europe. He loved to share stories about his time abroad, especially his time in Germany. He then dedicated 33 years of his career as a first line supervisor at Hill Air Force Base before retiring in 2001.

Goldy spent two-thirds of his life, 52 years, with his sweetheart, Karen Lish Sill.

Goldy loved to go camping in the Uintas with his extended family, sometimes spending weeks at a time in the mountains.

Gardening was one of Goldy’s favorite activities; flowers or veggies, he didn’t care, he loved it all. Tilling the Earth, pulling weeds, reaping the tasty or beautiful rewards, it all brought him so much joy.

Goldy was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and loved the years he was able to go home teaching with other members of his congregation.

Goldy was such a beloved member of the community. He loved to sit on his front porch, waving to people as they passed, and entertaining them if they stopped. Everyone he met was instantly charmed by his sense of humor and stories of the past. The porch will never be the same.

He is survived by his wife, Karen Lish Sill; children, Scott Wallace (Jeff Cleaveland), Jeff Wallace (Claudia Beqaj) and Chuck Sill (Beth); brothers and sisters Annie Curry, Jeannie Flint, Dave, Mark, Kim, John, and Emmy Criddle; grandchildren Tristen, Chandler, Gabriella, Tanner, and Jayden; two great-granddaughters; and one granddog, Thomas, who he lovingly called Tommy Boy.

Goldy is preceded in death by his sisters Mary Eva Criddle and Reta Diane Sill; and step-daughter Kim Crozier.
