Gordon Lee Capener, 74, passed away July 25, 2011 in Ogden, Utah. He was born May 31, 1937 in Tremonton Utah, the son of Howard Lee and Lola Hunsaker Capener. He was a lifelong resident of Riverside. He graduated from Utah State University. He taught school in Malad, Idaho, Bear River High School in Garland and at Box Elder Middle School in Brigham City, Utah. He was a member of the Belmont 2nd Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He served as a home teacher and in the Sunday School Presidency. He loved to work on the family farm. He enjoyed planting a vegetable garden each year and shared with friends and neighbors. He was preceded in death by his mother and father. He is survived by his brothers and sisters: LaPriel (Cyril) Welch of Brigham City, UT; Eldon (Jean) Capener of Riverdale, UT; Betty (David) Rich of Kaysville, UT; Neil (LuAnn) Capener and Lynn (Sheila) Capener of Riverside, UT. Also, many nieces and nephews he loved and enjoyed so much. Funeral services will be held Saturday July 30, 2011 at 11:00 am at the Belmont 2nd Ward Chapel, 16925 N. 5200 W. Riverside, Utah, 84334. A viewing will be held from 9:30-10:45 the day of the funeral. Interment at Riverside Cemetery.
