Helen Hess

Garland- Helen Louise Hess, 72 passed away February 10, 2012 surrounded by her family at the Ogden Regional Medical Center in Ogden, Utah. Helen was born on August 27, 1939 in Malad, Idaho to Helen Wright and Edward Hyrum Pingel. She married Gayl Hess in Las Vegas, Nevada on February 12, 1961. Helen lived many years in Garland, UT. And worked at Western Trails Café, Tremonton Sportswear, Vans Drive –Inn and retired from Lazy-boy. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She always loved to take care of her yard and flower gardens. Helen enjoyed many years playing women’s softball on JJ Whites team. One of her other favorite past times was making curtains and quilts. She was preceded in death by her parents, 2 brothers, Edward Ray Pingel, Robert Dee Pingel; in-laws, Lucille Brough and Stirl D. Hess; and 1 grandson, Braiden James Hess. She is survived by her spouse Gayl, Children; Cindy Hess, Brigham City, UT, Terri Hess (Kent), Idaho Falls, ID, Larry (Julie) Hess, East Garland, UT and Cody (Julie) Hess, Honeyville, UT, 16 Grandchildren, 8 Great Grand Children, 2 sisters and 1 brother. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. Greg Wilding, Dr. Jan Ashdown, Dr. Carl Gray, Dr. James Carlisle and all their staff as well as the Ogden Regional Medical Center for the love and support that they showed to Helen. A graveside service will be held at 1pm, Monday, February 13, 2012 at the Fielding Cemetery. A viewing will be held from 6-8pm Sunday, February 12, 2012 at Rudd Funeral Home, 1234 South Main Garland, UT.
