Holly Stone

GARLAND – Holly Marie Stone, 35, passed away unexpectedly in her sleep Monday, March 04, 2013. She was born December 18, 1977 oldest daughter of Merlene Woodland and David (Elizabeth) Stone, Sr. Holly was raised in Garland and lived there the majority of her life. Sandwiched between two older and two younger brothers, Holly had to learn patience and how to defend herself!! It wasn’t easy to be the only girl in the house! (She was so happy when Cassie was born. Finally a sister!) Holly was a good friend to many and loved to cause a raucous every now and again. Holly was a loyal and a passionate human being that saw the good in every person. Though she struggled in adult life she worked to keep a positive outlook and always got back up every time she fell. Holly missed her family that has gone before and spoke of them frequently, especially her brothers’ Justin and Darin. We are confident they are together again, along with other wonderful family, watching over us. Holly is survived by her parents; siblings Matt (April) Thompson, Scott (Tiffany) Stone, Cassaundra (Everett) Mittan, David (Chelsea) Stone Jr. as well as many aunts and uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews that will miss her very much. She was preceded in death by her brothers, Justin Stone and Darin Thompson as well as her grandparents Merlin and Louise Woodland and Burke and Mernie Stone. Memorial Services will be held Friday, March 8, 2013 11:00-Noon Garland Third Ward LDS Church, 175 South Main Garland with Bishop James Hall officiating. No public viewing is planned. Family and friends may call between 10:00-11:00 a.m. prior to Memorial services. Interment will be at the Garland cemetery following the funeral. In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated in Holly’s name to help the family offset the funeral costs.
