Biography
Ila A. Hess was born September 11, 1936 to Ivan and Asenath Archibald in Plymouth, UT. She passed away December 9, 2013 in Tremonton, UT.
Ila married Drex E. Hess January 28, 1956 in Plymouth, UT. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple on June 3, 1960.
After they were married they moved to California until Drex was out of the service. Then they moved home to Utah where they continue to live. As long as Ila could see Plymouth Peak she always felt at home.
Ila was a faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served where ever she was called.
Ila was the first Rodeo Queen in Plymouth. She also loved to bake.
She is survived by her devoted husband Drex, her children and their spouses: Julie Christensen (Cordell), Bart Hess (Lesa) and Jennie Mitton (Rick). Seven grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and three sisters: Gaynell Rose, Diane Ball and Dixie Donofrio.
She is preceded in death by her parents, sister Edna Hess and a great grandson Payden Shad Holdaway.
Funeral services for Ila will be held on December 14, 2013 at 11:00 a.m. in the Garland 3rd Ward Chapel (175 S. Main Garland, UT). There will be viewings held on December 13, 2013 at Rogers & Taylor Funeral Home (111 N. 100 E.) from 6-8 p.m. and at the church previous to the funeral from 9:30-10:30 a.m. Interment will be in the Plymouth Cemetery.
