Iva Mae Shaffer Godfrey passed away on November 6, 2017 in Riverside, Utah at the age of 94. Iva was born on May 20, 1923 in East Garland, Utah to Larkin Richard Shaffer and Dora Woods. She married Leo S. Godfrey on April 23, 1941. Leo passed away on March 10, 1980. She is survived by: Son-in-law Steve Anderson of Weston, Idaho; daughter Elaine Goodey of Clarkston, Utah; daughter Janet Scothern; and sons Alan (Brenda) Godfrey, Max (Anita) Godfrey of Riverside, Utah, Oleen (Shauna) Godfrey of North Garland, Utah, and one brother, Don W. Shaffer of North Logan, Utah.

She was blessed with 25 grandchildren, 65 great grandchildren, and 23 great- great grandchildren. Iva was preceded in death by her husband Leo, daughter Loila Anderson, son-in-law Veldon Todd Goodey, one great-great grandson Peter Benjamin Womack, and siblings Vern Shaffer, Kenneth Shaffer, Jasper Shaffer, Ned Shaffer, Carmen Gleed, Lenna Oyler, Vera Westergard, Effie Wilde, and JoAnn Gunnel.

During her life she lived in East Garland, Clarkston, Garland, and Riverside. She worked at Brigham Apparel for almost three years after the death of her husband. She is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She worked in the Logan Temple and served in various organizations within the church. She enjoyed cooking, camping, sightseeing, and spending time with friends and family, especially siblings.

After Leo’s passing, she filled many lonely hours with reading, quilting, crocheting, embroidery, and wrote several family history books. She loved to share her handwork with those who came to visit. The days were long when she could no longer see enough to keep her hands busy.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, November 11, 2017 at 12 Noon at the Fielding Stake Center (4375 W. 15600 N. Fielding, UT 84311). A viewing will be held prior to the funeral service from 10- 11:30 a.m. Interment in the Clarkston Cemetery.
