James "Mack" Christensen
Bear River City- James "Mack" Christensen age 90 passed away peacefully August 5, 2013 at his home surrounded by his family. He was born in Bear River City on August 25, 1922 to Arnold Christensen and Della Andersen. He was one of five children, one brother and three sisters.

He attended grade school in Bear River City and graduated from Box Elder High School in 1940. Mack worked on the family farm and in December of 1941 he joined the Army Air Force and was stationed with the 324th Bomb Squadron in England. He was honorably discharged in September of 1945 and returned to the family farm.

Mack married Lola Beth Petersen on August 5, 1949 in Brigham City. They built a home in Bear River where they lived for 62 years. Mack and Beth were sealed later as an eternal family in the Logan Temple.

They had four children: Toni (Sam) Millhone, Bear River; J. Craig (Kristy) Christensen, Bear River; Carol (Kenneth) Baugh, Honeyville and Kathy Ann Christensen who was born with a congenital heart defect and died at the age of 18 months after heart surgery.

Mack loved to farm and ranch, he was a tireless worker. The high point of his day was meeting with his many friends at JC's to discuss weather and farming issues.

He enjoyed traveling the back roads and looking at the countryside. He adored his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren; you could always find candy at grandpa's house.

He is survived by his three children, ten grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren with number twelve on the way and one sister Peggy Tydeck.

He was preceded in death by his wife, daughter, parents, brother Conley and two sisters Barbara Fridal and Addie Christensen.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday August 10, 2013 at 11 a.m. in the Bear River City LDS Chapel (5870 N 4700 W). Viewings will be held at the Bear River City Chapel on Friday evening August 9, 2013 from 6-8 pm and from 9:30 -10:30 a.m. previous to the funeral.
