James Wynn Wood

James Wynn Wood, age 64, passed away on December 27, 2024, in Ogden, Utah. He was born on March 13, 1960, in Pocatello, Idaho, to Jack Wynn Wood and Veneta Mae Wood. On December 3, 1982, James married Tamra Lynn Wood in the Ogden LDS Temple, beginning a loving partnership that lasted until his passing.

Throughout his life, James lived in various locations including Ogden, Portage, and Tremonton, Utah. He proudly graduated from Roy High School and pursued a career at Tool Engineering as a curb machine assembly tech. Beyond his professional pursuits, James was an avid tinkerer, finding joy in working on automobiles, riding horses, and motorcycles. His love for animals was evident in the care he provided to all creatures.

James was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, where he served a full-time mission and held several callings throughout his life. His cherished role as a High Priest remained particularly meaningful to him.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Tamra Lynn Wood; his children, Misty (Josh) Borglund and their six children, Tisha (Morgan) Walker and their three children, and Dustin (Kena) and their two children. He also leaves behind two brothers and two sisters all who will miss him dearly.

Funeral services to celebrate James’s life will be held on Friday, January 10, 2025, at Noon. Viewings will take place on Thursday, January 9, 2025, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, and prior to the service from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM. All services will be held at the River Parkway Ward LDS Church, located at 1050 E 21st Street, Ogden, Utah. For those unable to attend in person, the services will be livestreamed and can be accessed below. Interment will follow at the Ogden City Cemetery.
