Jana Lyn (Huggins) Beston

Jana Lyn Huggins Beston, 43, passed away January 30, 2025, at McKay Dee Hospital in Ogden, Utah.

She was born February 25, 1981, in Brigham City, Utah, to E. Steve and Janet Huggins. She was the youngest, in a family of four, with three older brothers.

She married Aaron Beston, June 12, 2004, which gave her the joy of her life, her son River Owen Beston. They were later divorced.

Jana grew up in Bear River City where she attended Bear River Elementary, making friends for a lifetime. She then expanded her circle of friends at Bear River Middle School in Garland, Utah. The group enlarged again at Bear River High School. She held her friends close to her heart and tried to keep in touch with them all. She then attended Utah State University in Logan for a while.

She worked many jobs including Mr. Pretzel, Mrs. Fields, Hallmark Store, Herff Jones but her favorite job was MOM.

She did leave her dear Box Elder and lived from Chehalis, Washington to St. George, Utah, and seven or eight places in between but always returned home.

Growing up with three brothers, and all the boy cousins, she learned to be a tomboy and had to be tough if she was to be included in their games at the farm.

Jana was not a sit at home and knit type of girl. She tried soccer, softball with the “Wild Things”, Kenpo (getting her purple belt), Intramural football at Bear River, rock climbing in Cabo, and Va-Dels. She was capable of sitting long enough to draw beautiful pictures. 

Jana is survived by her son River Owen Beston; mother Janet Huggins; two brothers, Tim Huggins and Darin Huggins and boyfriend Jeff Potter.

She was preceded in death by her father E. Steve Huggins and brother Tyler Stephen Huggins. 

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, at Noon. Viewings will be held on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, from 5-7 P.M. and prior to the service from 10:30-11:30 A.M. All services will be held at the Bear River City Church (5870 N 4700 W- Bear River City). Interment will take place at the Bear River City Cemetery.
