Janice Patricia (Patt) Barber Bindrup, age 88, passed away peacefully on Friday, January 25, 2019 at Our House Assisted Living Facility. She was born on November 10, 1930 in Logan, Utah. She is the daughter of William Wendell and Mary Thain Barber. She married her high school sweetheart, LaVere W. (Bin) Bindrup, on September 8, 1952 in the Logan Utah Temple.
Mom graduated from Logan High School and attended Utah State University. Dad joined the Army after graduating from USU making mom a military wife. Their travels took them to Texas, Alabama, Kentucky, Germany, Virginia, and Maryland. They retired in Las Vegas, Nevada. In 2005 they moved to Tremonton, Utah to be close to family. My mom was cheerful and flexible. I never heard her complain as year after year she packed up to move to the next place with two kids, a dog, a cat, and the occasional hamster in the back seat. Mom worked as a personnel manager at Sears until her retirement.
Mom loved music and had a beautiful voice. She also loved reading. She knit beautiful articles of clothing, afghans and Christmas stockings. Mom was a football fan who knew all the NFL teams and their quarterbacks. Her favorite was the Denver Broncos. She loved old movies, especially musicals.
Mom was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She participated in the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers.
Mom was a kind and generous person who made friends everywhere she went. She was devoted to her husband, children, and grandchildren. We all felt loved. She will be greatly missed by those of us left behind but we are so happy for her to be reunited with those who have been eagerly awaiting her arrival including her husband, parents, brother Richard and sisters, Jackie and Marilyn.
She is survived by her daughter, Sydna (Mike) Harris and son, Kirk Bindrup, 6 grandchildren, and 18 great-grandchildren.
Services will be held on Friday, February 1, 2019 at 12 p.m., noon, at the Tremonton Stake Center (660 N. 300 E.) A viewing will be held prior to the funeral from 10-11:30 a.m.
