Our loving father, Jay Russell Peterson, left this mortal world on September 8, 2016, to be reunited with our sweet mother and others that have passed before him. The day before his passing, we were able to celebrate his 89th birthday with him.
He was born on September 7, 1927 in Roberts, Idaho. He was the second of eight children born to Alta Genell Russell and John F. Peterson. He was raised in Montana and also lived in Idaho and Colorado before making his home in Tremonton, Utah. He married his sweetheart, Maryann Brown on December 24, 1947 in Zurich,Montana. That marriage was later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple in 2014.
Jay spent the better part of his life in the construction industry with his family. His life was always centered around his family.
He was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints
Jay is survived by his four children, Tonna (Jeff) Bowcutt, Cherie (Paul) Bullock, Kimberly (Matt) Walker and Russ (Nancy) Peterson, and his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Maryann, brothers Ross and Keith, and sister Evelyn.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, September 17, 2016 at Noon at the Rogers & Taylor Funeral Home (111 N. 100 E., Tremonton, Utah). A visitation will be held prior to the service from 11-11:45. Interment will be in the Garland Cemetery.
