Jimmy Tims

June 26, 1942 — February 6, 2022

Jimmy Thomas Tims, 79, was born on June 26, 1942 in Searcy, Arkansas. He passed away on February 6, 2022 in Malad City, Idaho.  Jim was born to Jimmy Garland Sellers and was later adopted by Thomas H Tims and changed his name to Jimmy Thomas Tims.

Jim is the oldest of eight children with six brothers and one favorite sister.

Donald, deceased, Ronald & Debbie (Halladay St. George, UT)  Ray Halladay (Ogden, UT), Kent & Elizabeth Halladay (St George, UT), Dan & Robyn Halladay (Elko, NV)  Rhoana (Rho) & Shane (Woody) Wood (Malad City, ID)  Roger & Gina Tims (Mt. View, WY).

He is preceded in death by his parents Thomas Hyrum Tims, and  Marguerite Jensen Tims , two nephews and two great nephews. Jimmy left many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews, who all loved him dearly. They were always excited to see him, Uncle “Dim,Dim”.

Jim was always happy and had a big heart. He was concerned about everyone he knew.

At a very young age Jim taught himself to play guitar and was very proficient at it. He performed at different venues throughout out his life, one of them being the Breakfast Club in Hollywood CA at the age of 10 in 1952.

Jim enjoyed and completed a work mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.  He loved doing about anything with family and friends. Some of his favorite things to do were camping, fishing, attending football games, and socializing over coffee. When he lived in Green River, WY  he never missed a high school game. As a result of that, the team gave Jim a letterman jacket with #1 fan on it. He was very proud of that.

Jim worked from the age of 14. He was employed by Wiser Lock in South Gate CA until 1970, when we moved Idaho. In Idaho he had a variety of jobs, eventually being employed by Parker Hannifin in North Ogden where he stayed until his retirement.

A Graveside will be held on Monday February 14, 2022 at 1 PM at the Portage Cemetery (W 25800 N St Portage, UT).
