He married Jennifer Marie Williams on July 16, 2005 in Bountiful Utah Temple. He was raised and resided all along the Wasatch Front, and graduating from Lone Peak High School.
John continued his education at Utah State University, where he earned a Bachelor’s degree in Aviation Maintenance and Management. He also spent many years driving a bus.
John loved “playing with the guitar” (that’s how he always said it), fishing, and working on cars. He was also an avid cartridge collector. He enjoyed operating a HAM radio and playing computer games.
One of the most rewarding things John spent a lot of time and energy doing was serving others by fixing cars and teaching people how to fix and maintain their own vehicles. He often opened his home up to people who were in need of a roof over their heads.
John is an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was currently serving as a teacher in the Elders Quorum.
He is survived by his wife, Jenny; daughters, Hazel Pearl (13), Mya Marjorie (12); sons, Waylon Gene (12), Vincent Jason (4); mother, Lesa Hambleton; brothers, Steven (Chelsea), Brian (Sarah), Ben (Marie); sister, Sarah (Jeremy) Kidman; in-laws, Gene & KC Williams and their children, Sarah (Brad) Peterson, & Evan (Moses) Williams; many nieces; nephews; and dear friends.
