JoLayne (Palmer) Korth

July 22, 1936 — February 17, 2025

Edna JoLayne Palmer Korth passed away on February 17, 2025, in Springville, Utah. She was 88 years old. JoLayne was born on July 22, 1936, in Murray, Salt Lake County, Utah to Alma and Edna Palmer. She was the second oldest of 4 children. She spent her childhood in Park Valley, Utah, surrounded by family and cousins. She moved to Tremonton, Utah to attend Bear River High School. After high school, she received some education at Utah State and LDS Business College. She served as a missionary for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Northern States Mission.

After returning from her mission, she met her eternal companion, Vaughn Baird Korth, and they were married on June 14, 1963, in the Logan, Utah Temple. Together they had 4 children. Throughout their marriage they lived in Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Oregon, and Utah. She and Vaughn were living in Pocatello, Idaho at the time of Vaughn’s passing in 2016. She then moved to Springville, Utah.

JoLayne loved her family, and her time was filled with serving through acts of generosity and kindness and providing for those around her. She enjoyed sewing, embroidery, crafting, and making scrapbooks. She spent time creating activities for her 12 grandchildren, especially church lesson kits to share her love of the gospel. She always looked forward to spending time with her sisters and family coming to visit. She valued her church membership, serving in callings, temple and family history work, reading scriptures, and prayer. She was a loving and wonderful example to all who met her. She will be greatly missed. Her family would like to thank the caretakers at Ashford Assisted Living and Memory Care as well as First Choice Home Health & Hospice for their kindness and compassion.

JoLayne is survived by her children Elvan (Stacey), James (Shannon), Byran (Sheia), and Deborah Jackson (Christian), her sisters Judy (Jay) Nielson and Amber (Kerry) Johnsen, as well as her 12 grandchildren: Jake, Cody, Cameron, Kayden, Kimberly (Brandon), Karissa, Cooper, Kyler, Brody, Reagan, Alexander, and Bridger. She is preceded in death by her parents, Alma and Edna Palmer, brother Roy Palmer, and husband Vaughn.
