Joseph Durfey

BOUNTIFUL- Joseph Norman Durfey passed away June 3, 2014. He was born Sept. 14, 1935 to Joseph L. and Anna Maughn Durfey. He grew up in Beaver Dam, UT and attended Bear River High School.
Joseph served in the U.S. Navy from 1952-1956 during the Korean Conflict mostly aboard the destroyer, the U.S.S. Braine DD630.

He married Marilyn Huggins on Feb. 27, 1957; they were later sealed in the Bountiful LDS Temple on April 5, 2012. They lived in Salt Lake City and Bountiful, Utah. He worked for AT&T and retired after 35 years of service.

Joseph was a member of the L.D.S. Church. He was always there to help anyone in need. He loved fishing, hunting and camping with family and his many friends, especially the John brothers. He looked forward to his monthly lunches with his work friends.

He is survived by his wife, Marilyn; daughter, Kristina (James) Neil; grandson’s, J.D. (Carolinda) Wheeler, Cory (Tasha) Wheeler; 4 great grandchildren, Dezirae, Braeden, Gracie, and T.J.

A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, June 9, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Val Verda 8th Ward LDS Chapel (2651 South 500 West, Bountiful, UT). A viewing will be held prior to the service from 9-10:30 a.m. Burial will follow in the Beaver Dam, UT Cemetery with military honors.
